Yesterday, We talked about seeds and how something so small and simplistic, could actually be so complex. We also talked about how seeds go thru a dormant period of time; they wait until the conditions are right and then they grow.
If you did not read yesterdays post, please do so prior to reading this one. They tried to bury us; they did not know we were seeds. Part 1
Today, I would like to continue with the “seed”. In my previous post, I quoted another bloggers definition of a seed and his following statement. Part of that statement included this: A seed contains specific qualities that enables it to work even after extended times outside of the normal environment that they like to grow in. We understand this because we can buy seeds at the farm and garden store to plant in our backyards to grow whatever we would like. (You can read the article from The Agapegeek Blog here if you would like.)
The line that catches my eye is – A seed contains specific qualities that enables it to work even after extended times outside of the normal environment that they like to grow in.
Think about this; a seed contains specific qualities that allow it to work and grow- even if it is not in its comfortable environment.
I am sure that we have all felt like a “fish -out- of -water” at some point in our lives. We have also more than likely, questioned our purpose and/or reason for being where we are – whether it be physically or circumstantial.
We like to be comfortable; we like to follow a “plan” and know where our path is leading.
Well, I am sure that an orange tree would prefer to live in Florida; it can live in Oklahoma though, if it is nourished correctly!
We are the same way – we have a preference of where we would like to be and/or what we would like to be doing. This preference though, only matches “our” plans and not the plans of God.
8″For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. 9“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts
In our mind, we see the big picture. We know what we “think” we want and where we “think” we should end up. We “think” that we know our talents and how God can use them.
This verse, tells us…we are not always right! We do not see the “big” picture – the big picture is far to large for our human minds to ever comprehend.
Sometimes, you will feel God nudging you; hinting to you that he wants you to go somewhere or do something. In, your mind – you may think it sounds crazy! It might even frighten you or make you uncomfortable.
The thing to remember is – Like a seed, you contain specific qualities that enable you to work even after extended time outside of the normal environment that you like to grow in.
Yes, God may take you somewhere uncomfortable; he may challenge your “logical” thinking!
No, his plan may NOT make sense to you, but it is the right plan.
The specific qualities that you have – they are the Holy Spirit…God! (Pretty amazing qualities!)
A seed has no idea where it will ultimately be planted, but will grow as long as its life-sustaining-needs are met! We are the same! We have no idea where/ how God can or will use us! We can rest assured though that wherever/however it is…our life-sustaining-needs will be met! We will lack NOTHING! We will discover talents and abilities we never knew existed in us!
If you are at the point where you feel like a seed-flying-in-the-wind; close your eyes and enjoy the flight! Pray, pray and pray! God knows the destination of your journey and where you will be planted! Allow your faith to be in him; he is a master gardener who compares to none!
He will never plant you in a location that will not allow you to grow and bloom! He doesn’t promise that you won’t experience storms while getting there and after you are planted. He does promise though that he will be there with you at all times. He will nourish you and water you; he will make sure all of your needs are met.
You just have to allow him to help you GROW!
